Alpine mountain tour | Bristen with a mountain guide

The Bristen is one of the most impressive peaks in the heart of Central Switzerland. Rising like a mighty pyramid above the Reuss Valley in Uri, it can be seen from afar. It offers a varied mountain hike, combining walking through alpine terrain with easy climbing to create a special mountain experience. We cover the first few metres of elevation gain comfortably by train. The approach then takes us further uphill through the alpine landscape before we reach increasingly boulder-strewn terrain. We cover the final 200 metres or so of elevation gain to the summit with easy climbing over rock offering good handholds. As we gain height, the view becomes ever more impressive: the Reuss Valley lies deep below us, whilst the peaks of the Uri Alps tower all around. The ascent requires a fair amount of stamina – in total, we’ll need to climb around 2,000 metres in altitude. We are rewarded with a magnificent view from the summit and the special feeling of having climbed this striking mountain. Our mountain guide ensures a safe route, supports you through the technical sections and can belay you on a rope if necessary. The tour is ideal for anyone who enjoys mountain walking, relishes varied and occasionally exposed terrain, and would like to try their hand at some light climbing.
