Basic multi-pitch course in Ticino | Training and practical tours with a mountain guide
Pitch after pitch in the best gneiss - learn multi-pitch climbing in sunny Ticino and take the plunge from the climbing garden to the wall!
Are you ready to finally venture out from the climbing wall onto long routes – not ending up back on the ground after just one pitch, but tackling pitch after pitch? Then this two-day course in sunny Ticino is just the thing for you!
With its mild climate, southern flair and a large selection of climbing areas, Ticino offers the ideal setting for getting into multi-pitch climbing. Between gneiss slabs, cracks and the best friction rock, you will find everything a climber's heart desires - and thanks to the pleasant temperatures, it is also wonderful to climb outdoors in spring and autumn. Perfect conditions for learning new things and putting what you've learnt into practice on the rock.
We’ll spend two days helping you gain a solid understanding of the sport and feel confident on the rock: the first day focuses on training. You’ll learn the basic techniques of multi-pitch climbing or brush up on your skills – with a focus on topics such as planning, setting up belay stations, rope handling, as well as rescue and first aid.
The following day, we put what we’ve learnt into practice straight away: we climb varied multi-pitch routes in the beautiful Ticino granite landscape, practise efficient procedures and refine our technique. This helps you consolidate your routine and, if you wish, you can even lead a pitch yourself to build confidence in the equipment and your movements. On the second evening, our mountain guide will give an engaging theory session on meteorology, rescue and first aid – knowledge that you can put into practice the following day.
These two days combine training, practical application and the true „dolce vita“ – with plenty of time spent climbing, valuable insights and a touch of Italy under the warm Ticino sun.
