Graubünden Haute Route | High altitude ski tour through Graubünden with a mountain guide
On touring skis from the Engadin to Davos, a breathtaking and exciting ski crossing.
To the dates and registration
The Engadin mountains offer perfect conditions for a multi-day ski tour with impressive peaks, varied descents and cosy overnight stays in mountain huts. Our tour takes us through one of the most beautiful regions in Graubünden, between the Upper Engadin, Davos and the Lower Engadin, where we can enjoy the vastness of the high alpine landscape. We start relaxed and get in the mood for the coming days before moving from hut to hut through the fascinating winter landscape. Each day we choose the tour destinations to suit the current conditions and the group. There are both classic peaks and lesser-known routes to choose from - from open slopes with enjoyable descents to alpine ascents for experienced ski tourers. Overnight stays in cosy mountain huts make this tour a special experience. Here we end the day in a convivial atmosphere and discuss plans for the next day. Whether in the Upper Engadine, the Lower Engadine or the Davos mountains, this multi-day tour promises varied routes, impressive views and exciting ski touring moments.
We meet in Zuoz at the railway station. As we will be making a crossing, we recommend that you travel by public transport.
We start our tour in Zuoz and take the first few metres in altitude comfortably on the pizza lift. We then ascend in the direction of Piz Belvair. A short, pleasant ascent to get us in the mood for the days ahead. After a first descent that whets our appetite for more, we reach our destination for the first night: the cosy Es-Cha hut.
After a fortifying breakfast, we climb Piz Pischa together. After a rewarding descent, the next summit awaits: the Kesch Pitschen. From there, we enjoy another descent before travelling down to the Keschhütte, where we spend the second night.
If conditions permit, we will climb over the Piz Grialetsch today and then reach the Grialetsch hut. We spend our third night in this cosy hut.
Today we are going on another beautiful ski tour. Depending on the conditions, we will finish these ski tour days in the Lower Engadine or Davos. Possible tour destination: Radüner Rothorn.
We conclude these ski tour days together. We either travel back home individually from Davos or from the Lower Engadine.

Accommodation
Chamanna D`Escha
The Chamanna d'Es-cha is situated high above Madulain on a sunny terrace at the foot of Piz Kesch. From here we can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Engadin as far as the Bernina peaks. The small, cosy hut is a classic base for ski and mountain tours in the region and offers a family atmosphere.
Kesch hut
The modern yet cosy Keschhütte is perched on a rocky ridge above the Val Tuor with a fantastic view of the mighty Piz Kesch. It is known for its comfortable infrastructure, its ecological construction and not least for its excellent cuisine. As an ideal starting point for impressive high-altitude ski tours in the region, the hut combines alpine originality with cosy hospitality.
Grialetsch hut
The Grialetschhütte is idyllically nestled between Davos, the Flüela Pass and the Lower Engadine. It is an ideal starting point for ski tours to surrounding peaks such as the Radüner Rothorn, Piz Grialetsch or Piz Sarsura. The cosy SAC hut impresses with its warm atmosphere and unique location in the middle of the high alpine landscape. After an eventful day in the snow, this is a wonderful place to relax, recharge your batteries and round off the tour with a good meal.
That's what our guests say:
I took part in the Grisons Haute Route 2022. Everything was superbly organised. Great camaraderie, great stages, great accommodation, only the weather didn't always want to play along, but this didn't detract from the success. I can warmly recommend Bergschaft and will be going on tours with Bergschaft again myself. Many thanks and continued successful tours.
This was my 2nd time on a Haute Route with Bergschaft. First the Grisons, then the Valais. Both tours were super organised, super guided. The scenery, especially on the Valais Haute Route, was stunning. Even if the weather didn't always play ball, it was great fun in a group. Everyone pitched in at the bivouac, whether it was melting snow for soup, cooking or washing up, it was just great to be able to experience moments like this. Many thanks!
I can only advise everyone to sign up and experience such unforgettable moments. I can highly recommend Bergschaft, everything is very professionally organised and run, for me it is clear that this will not be the last tour.
