Climbing Tour: Gross Mythen Traverse | Adlerspitzli & Wysswändli

The Grosse Mythen is probably familiar to many. But the solitary route via the Adlerspitzli and the Wysswändli shows it from a completely new angle. On routes graded 2 and 3, we follow the striking ridge up to the Adlerspitz. Here we’ll find superb rock and varied climbing sections! After a leisurely rest on the Adlerspitz, we abseil down to the saddle and then traverse along secluded paths to the foot of the Wysswändli. Here, another long, enjoyable scramble awaits, which ultimately leads us to the summit of the Grosser Mythen. Along the way, we come across a rarely visited visitors’ book, which has survived for more than 30 years and holds a piece of alpine history within its pages! Throughout, we enjoy the magnificent views of Lake Lucerne and the Alpine panorama stretching all the way to the Bernese peaks. At the summit, we then refuel in the cosy summit restaurant. We begin our descent at a leisurely pace along the footpath, and thanks to the Brunnibahn, we make the journey there and back pleasantly shorter. A tour for anyone who wants to combine solitude, the joy of climbing and mountain culture.
Procedure and meeting place
We meet at the valley station of the Brunni - Holzegg cable car. If you are travelling from the Schwyz side, we will meet about 15 minutes later at the Holzegg mountain station.
From the mountain station, we climb first along hiking trails and then barely visible paths to the foot of the Adlerspitz.
We start scrambling and climbing surrounded by a fantastic backdrop and on fantastic rock.
We cross the south face of the Gross Mythen on foot and on a short rope. Where necessary, we will belay you so that you feel comfortable and can enjoy the atmosphere.
A unique line leads us through the Wysswändli up to the summit of the Gross Mythen. Climbing in 3rd degree.
At the summit, we enjoy a cool drink and the magnificent view before descending comfortably back to the cable car in 1 hour.
We end the day together back in the valley.
Requirements
- You can move around in pathless terrain
- Climbing in III difficulty ridge (easy scrambling sections)
- Condition for high altitude tours with around 800hm ascent and descent at a comfortable pace (~300hm/h).

- Rope team with 2 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
