High tour | Sustenlochspitz with mountain guide
Airy ridge climbing in an alpine setting!
The Sustenpass and therefore also the Sustenlochspitz are easily accessible and offer a magnificent high-altitude tour in fantastic gneiss right on the Sustenpass. You can always enjoy the magnificent view of the large glaciers of the Sustenhorn and co and the pointed mountains of the Sustli area. The tour starts from the Susten Pass and leads along the hiking trail to the start. The tour then leads over several upswings and spikes to the panoramic summit. We climb and scramble sometimes on the edge, sometimes on the flank and always on fantastic rock with magnificent views. The descent is entertaining with 2 short abseils. Back at the Sustenpass, we can toast to the tour together!
Procedure and meeting place
We meet directly at the Susten Pass. For carpooling at 07:51 at Altdorf railway station
The approach takes about 1 hour to the Guferjoch from where we start the traverse. This leads over several towers and exposed ridges to the summit. The climbing is often in grade III and takes around 4 hours. The descent leads via 2 short abseils where the mountain guide will let you off.
