At the beginning of May, we go on 4,000-metre peaks and ski tours together. In May, the conditions on the 4,000-metre peaks of the Bernese Oberland are perfect and we make the most of the days and climb several 4,000-metre peaks together: Fiescherhörner and Finsteraarhorn. We scramble with ice axes and crampons over easy ridges and climb somewhat steeper firn sections. Always well secured, of course, and coached in a 3-man rope team with the mountain guide. We start with the magnificent tour over the Trugberg with a great descent to the Konkordiaplatz. Here we can acclimatise well before climbing the two Fiescherhörner peaks and the Finsteraarhorn, the icon of the Bernese Alps, over the next two days. On the last day we undertake the fantastic tour over the Galmihorn and descend into Goms. Depending on the snow conditions, we descend into the Lötschental at the end of May. Here you can ski down for a long time and the bus goes up to 1800 metres.

We meet on the Jungfraujoch, right by the first coffee bar.

    • Day 1 - Mönch

      700 Hm

      700 Hm

      ZS-

We climb the first few metres on touring skis towards the Mönchsjochhütte. At the start of the normal route to the Mönch, we set up a ski depot and ascend to the summit roped up in a 3-person rope team. Experience has shown that such a fast ascent (Jungfrau cable car and summit ascent) is strenuous with little acclimatisation and quickly leads to headaches. So we take it slow and easy and climb as high as possible. We spend the night in the Mönchsjochhütte and enjoy excellent service.

Alternative: Trugberg and overnight stay in the Konkordiahütte to acclimatise better.

    • Day 2 - Fiescherhörner

      1000 Hm

      1550 metres altitude

      ZS

The day begins with a marvellous descent across the Ewigschneefeld. After the ascent to the Fieschersattel, the ascent of the Fiescherhörner over rock, snow and ice begins. The descent takes us over a wild glacier to the Finsteraarhorn hut.

    • Day 3 - Finsteraarhorn

      1200 metres altitude

      1200 metres altitude

      ZS

High ski tour on the Finsteraarhorn with 2nd degree climbing sections and a magnificent descent through the glacier. Another overnight stay in the Finsteraarhorn hut

    • Day 4 - Conclusion over the Galmihorn

      700 Hm

      1500 metres altitude

      WS+

      Closing approx. 15:00

Depending on the conditions, we leave the Aletsch Arena via the Galmihorn, the Lötschental or the Fiescheralp. An alternative and shorter option is via the Lötschenlücke into the Lötschental or to the Fiescheralp.

  • Clémence Daloz

Our 4-day tour in the Bernese Oberland (Fiescherhörner/Finsteraarhorn/Galmihorn) with Philipp and Hannes was great fun. The group was friendly and there was a good atmosphere. The glacier landscape is spectacular and the snow conditions at the end of May were fantastic. Both mountain guides are very competent and complement each other well. Philipp finds secret descents with sulz and speaks perfect French. Hannes is very helpful and patient. Very good tour guiding from both. I learnt a lot of interesting tips. Many thanks to both mountain guides and to the fun group! I wish you a great tour with Bergschaft!
  • Thomas Nigg

A great tour in the Aletsch region with two days of glorious weather, beautiful slopes, a spectacular descent and two less beautiful days that forced us to make an alternative exit. That's also part of it and was super "managed". Nevertheless, it was a great experience, well guided, instructive and fun.
