Mountain guide Tinle Gwerder

Tinle grew up in Valais and Graubünden, two places where mountains are part of everyday life. Today, he lives in Andermatt and works in the ski resort's technical department, always surrounded by beautiful mountains.

If Tinle had to choose, he would prefer ski touring to freeriding or high-altitude touring to climbing – but in the end, one thing matters most to him: being outdoors. Every day spent in nature is a good day for Tinle.

Tinle, who describes himself as a rather quiet character, prefers to be away from the hustle and bustle. He recharges his batteries best during solitary climbs, scenic breaks at the summit and rapid descents. But he also enjoys giving guests special moments and introducing them to the beauty and tranquillity of the mountains.

A brilliant tour, brilliant organisation, brilliant mountain guide!

A fantastic, memorable tour up the Mönch. Unfortunately, we were unable to tackle the Jungfrau due to the conditions, but the team of mountain guides organised an alternative route up the Walcherhorn instead. Fabian, our mountain guide, was brilliant. He led us with absolute confidence, and his decisions were always well-reasoned. He played a key part in ensuring we had such a fantastic experience.

An absolutely brilliant tour! Two wonderful days with an overnight stay at the mountain hut. Our mountain guide, Tinle, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and kept us safe. The organisation was excellent from start to finish. In particular, the last-minute change of plans due to the weather was handled perfectly, and the second day was just as lovely as the first, if not more so. A brilliant tour – highly recommended! I’d go on a tour with Bergschaft again in a heartbeat.

Many thanks to Tinle and Fabian for guiding us so skilfully up the Aletschhorn and then past the Nesthorn back down into the valley. A great three days in the high mountains, far away from everything. Long ascents and summit climbs, moderate hut-to-hut routes via ferrata and slippery descents. Despite the high avalanche risk, our mountain guide Tinle had chosen the safest route for us. And despite everything, we found untravelled, not too steep slopes. An all-round perfect day of ski touring! 🤩
