Freetouring days in Samnaun with a local mountain guide

• Content and procedure

  These touring days are aimed at freetouring enthusiasts who already have experience in deep snow and with different types of snow. The programme is ideal for all those who have already completed an off-piste technique course and would like to develop their skills in open terrain. You can expect a balanced mix of learning, enjoyable skiing and exploring remote lines in a small, motivated group.

  • Meeting place

    approx. 10 am Samnaun valley station

    We get to know each other in the morning at the agreed meeting point and then take the cable car to the ski area together.

  • Day 1

    We start with a relaxed warm-up in the terrain, get to know each other as a group and immerse ourselves in the first descents in gently accessible off-piste terrain.

  • Day 2-4: Deepen your technique, find lines, experience freeriding

    Over the next three days, we will intensively improve your off-piste skiing skills. With targeted technical input and personalised tips, we will improve your cornering technique, balance and vision, always adapted to the snow conditions and terrain. You will learn to read the terrain, consciously choose lines and find your own personal flow in deep snow. Whether it's playful variations, wide slopes or more challenging routes, you'll put what you've learnt directly into practice. The last day is all about the freeride experience: longer runs, independent line selection, teamwork and maximum enjoyment in the best snow we can find.

  • Conclusion

    approx. 3 pm

    We say goodbye to each other on Sunday afternoon. We all travelled home separately, but with many shared moments in our heads that will stay with us for a long time to come.

• Requirements

  • Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
  • Ideally, you have already attended a first technique course or ski safely in different terrain.
  • You enjoy skiing.
  • Mastering the ski touring technique (skins, hairpin turns).
  • Fitness for ski tours with around 500 metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and significantly more downhill.
  • Splitboarders are welcome.
