High tour Gross Diamantstock with mountain guide:in

The high-altitude hike up the Gross Diamantstock is a real gem on the Grimsel Pass. The ascent along the east ridge, in the morning sun, offers some lovely climbing. Our tour begins at a leisurely pace with the drive to Lake Räterichsbodensee. From there, we hike past meandering glacial streams across the beautiful glacial forelands to the Bächlitalhütte. Here, there are a few more lovely climbing routes to help us prepare well for the next day. An early start takes us to the east ridge at dawn, where we climb together towards the summit, enjoying superb climbing, often at Grade III difficulty. We cross the Gross Diamantstock, descend a short distance southwards and reach a few abseiling and downclimbing sections. A short stretch across the glacier takes us back to the Bächlitalhütte. After a lovely cup of coffee and some cake, we head back down into the valley and savour the fact that we’ve shared a fantastic trip full of wonderful memories!
