Basic ice climbing course with mountain guide
Learn the basics of ice climbing from mountain guides and immerse yourself in the world of ice climbing.
In this course you will learn the basics of ice climbing. From the correct use of ice axe and crampons to standard movements and belaying, we will show you how to move in the icy winter landscape. We will move in the area of an icefall, where single-pitch routes can be climbed. In various exercises we will learn ice climbing and also apply it right away. Don't be afraid of the cold, we have a gas cooker with us and there will be warm coffee, tea and soup.
We will spend the night in a hotel or inn and enjoy the evening together.
Venue & meeting point
Flexibility is very important when ice climbing. We will therefore adapt the venue to the prevailing conditions and organise accommodation accordingly at short notice. This course takes place in two areas, either in Eastern Switzerland (Avers, Safiental, Sertig) or in the Bernese Oberland with Upper Valais (Kandersteg, Engstligenalp Saas-Fee).
The meeting point will be determined shortly before the tour and we will organise ourselves into car pools.
