We'll go on our first ski tours together and take the time to learn the basics and have great experiences on our first ski tours. We want to show you ski touring the way we love and enjoy it ourselves. Short, pleasant ascents at a leisurely pace followed by beautiful, less steep descents in powder snow. Together we will look at how to ascend on skis and give tips for descending in deep snow. During these days, you will learn the basics of ski touring and practise using an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe.
During the two days we have time to cater to your needs and we take more breaks than usual.
The Lidernen area above Riemenstalden in the canton of Schwyz offers ideal conditions for this. The varied slopes, the sheltered location and the impressive views from the Glarus to the Uri Alps make the area a real ski touring paradise. Thanks to the mostly favourable snow conditions and the large number of tours, the region is perfect for combining theory and practice - from the gentle Spilauerstock to the panoramic Rossstock or Blüemberg.
Our base, the cosy Lidernenhütte at 1,727 m, is located in the middle of the touring area and is the ideal starting point for our training days. Here you can expect a warm atmosphere, delicious food and a cosy parlour where we can reflect on the day and plan the next tour. Perhaps this is your first time in an SAC hut. We will be happy to show you what it's like in the huts and how you can enjoy your stay.

Course content and procedure
We meet at the valley station of the Chäppeliberg cable car in Riemenstalden. Here we get to know each other and start familiarising ourselves with the equipment.
Car parking spaces are available.
For all those travelling by public transport, we recommend making a reservation for the bus from Sisikon-Riemenstalden, which can be made by calling 041 817 75 00.
We go on a leisurely ski tour together and take the time to look at and discuss everything we need to know. As usual, we look for the best snow and enjoy a great descent. We spend the evening at the cosy Lidernenhütte with a magnificent sunset!

Another leisurely ski tour, today we start directly in the area so we can be the first to set off. We look for secluded terrain and deepen and consolidate what we learnt the day before. We enjoy the rhythmic ascent and look for the best snow to ski down. We enjoy the time together and learn new things. At the end of the day we are allowed to ski down to the car park!
Daily destination: You build on what you have learnt and become more confident in its application. You will gain a clear impression of what ski touring is and what it requires.

After a great weekend, we finish the course together again at the Chäppeliberg car park.
Requirements
- No previous ski touring experience required.
- Experience in skiing on the black piste.
- Stamina for short ski tours with an ascent of around 800 metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h)

- Small group with 4 - 8 guests per mountain guide.
- Including professional planning and realisation with a mountain guide and his travel expenses.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
