Ski mountaineering training course Graubünden Alps
Deepen your knowledge and gain the necessary confidence to be able to plan and organise ski tours independently.
To the dates and registration
Ski mountaineering tours combine the fascination of ski touring with the challenges of the high mountains: glaciers, crampons and rope technology come into play. Have you already done guided high-altitude ski tours and would now like to master such tours on your own without a mountain guide? In this course, we will teach you the key basics. We practise the correct use of crampons and ice axes, learn various roping and safety techniques and practise the most important rope manoeuvres for ski mountaineering tours. This also includes rescue methods such as crevasse rescue. We put what we have learnt directly into practice on tours - from the ascent over firn and glaciers to a safe descent.
Target: After this course you will be able to plan and organise ski tours on your own responsibility.
4 days of training and tours between Chamanna D'Escha and Keschhütte.
In four intensive days, you will learn everything you need for safe ski tours in the high mountains. Surrounded by impressive mountain scenery, we combine practical learning with varied tours. We practise rope and rescue techniques, the use of crampons and ice axes, track setting and tactics, and put what we have learnt directly into practice on high-altitude ski tours to rewarding summits.
Individual arrival and meeting point in Zuoz.
We use the lift to shorten the metres of ascent and the approach to Chamana D'Escha. We get to know each other as a group on an introductory tour, clarify your expectations of the course and check the equipment.
Training day on a tour from Chamana D`Escha and transition to the Keschhütte.
Training & tours from the Keschhütte, e.g. Piz Kesch, Kesch Pitschen or surrounding peaks. In-depth training in rope handling, crevasse rescue, crampon technique, tour planning, track setting, risk management.
