It towers high above the Pontresina Valley, surrounded by mighty glaciers and often covered in perfect snow well into spring. This tour is one of the most impressive high-altitude ski tours in the Alps. Technically varied, scenically unique and with a descent that will remain in your memory. We meet the day before at the Diavolezza mountain station, where we enjoy the evening atmosphere and the direct view of our destination for the next day. Early the next morning, we set off in the warm light of dawn and climb across wide glacier areas to the Fortezza ridge. This is overcome with easy but impressive scrambling before we reach the wide Bellavista terrace. From there, we continue through an imposing crevasse zone towards the summit – step by step up to the 4049 m high Piz Bernina. At the top, a moment of pure fascination awaits us: panoramic views, altitude, vastness. A real highlight for anyone who loves alpine challenges. The descent is no less impressive: sweeping and long, it winds its way down the glaciers to Morteratsch. A worthy conclusion to this magnificent tour.

Optional:
You are welcome to come along on the days before the Piz Palü. Perfect preparation for the Bernina ascent.

Step by step, we climb higher over wide, gently sloping firn fields and approach the impressive summit. We climb up the Fortezza ridge and reach the Bellavista traverse. Each metre of altitude opens up an even more magnificent panorama and increases the anticipation of reaching the highest point in the Eastern Alps.
