The Tödi, with its striking silhouette, forms the impressive end of the Glarus Linthal. The ski tour to this summit is one of the most traditional routes in Switzerland and is surrounded by many legends and tales. This long high-altitude ski tour rewards you with a unique mountain experience.

The ascent as well as the descent, under steep walls and imposing glaciers, stretches over 10 kilometres and 2900 vertical metres through wild valleys and perfect ski slopes.

Glarus Haute Route - around and up the Tödi:

    Planned route

    1. From Tierfehd along the forest road to Hintersand (1300m). Then along the summer trail via Tentiwang and Bifertenalpeli to Fridolinshütte 2111m.
    2. After a hearty breakfast, the headlamp is put on and the challenging ski tour up the Tödi begins. From the Fridolinshütte, the route leads in a south-westerly direction over the moraine to the Bifertenfirn. The ascent includes two challenging ice fractures; depending on the conditions, skis can be used or crampons are required. After the crevasse zone, the Bifertenfirn stretches out like a glistening carpet. Once you have conquered the "Wailing Wall", you can look forward to the nearby summit! The summit cross and the breathtaking view reward your efforts. The descent of over 2,800 metres in altitude along the ascent route challenges your thighs once again. The Tödi is a real adventure!

That's what our guests say:

  • Sabine Schuler

The 2-day tour on the Tödi was very good. Marco and Gianna guided us very competently through a foehn storm and sometimes very poor visibility. Unfortunately, at the beginning we had to walk back down the valley for 2.5 hours with our skis on up to around 1600 metres and then back again after the tour on Sunday. It was quite exhausting, especially because after the 1500m ascent to Tödi, the snow was very hard at the top and very heavy/wet at the bottom. You should critically scrutinise your strength and abilities for this tour. A dream tour in ideal conditions!
  • Natalia Koltes

Wonderful tour in magnificent scenery for all those who like to run a few metres in altitude every weekend :-) Great organisation in advance with clear communication. Top all round!
