The beautiful fresh snow brings us to the Schächental. We enjoy long treeruns across the alpine meadows. We make 2-3 descents with railway support before the first clearings appear in the afternoon. Then we put on our skins and head into new, untracked terrain.
Procedure and meeting place
We meet at Altdorf railway station and carpool from here to one of the small cable cars in the Schächental valley
We make 2-3 descents with the cable cars before it brightens up a bit in the afternoon and we look for ascents and new terrain with the skins and enjoy the silence of ski touring.
We end the day full of joy together in the same place.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Experienced downhill skiing technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for a descent of around 2500 metres.
- Stamina for ski tours with around 600 metres in altitude at a leisurely pace (~300m/h).
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

- For this tour you need the material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
