Mountain guide aspirant Fabian Thali

Fabian is at home in Lucerne and grew up around the mountains of Central Switzerland.
The former rower used to spend a lot of time on the water, but today he prefers this element in its frozen form - firn, ice or powder snow. Climbing the great Swiss mountains - classic alpine tours got Fabian into mountaineering back then. Today, his heart still burns for wild alpine tours and spectacular ridges.
He also enjoys making long turns on wide boards in winter. For example, somewhere in the Engelberg Valley, where he does a lot of travelling.
In addition to his job as an aspiring mountain guide, he works as a mechanic or spends time with his small family.

Many thanks to Tinle and Fabian for guiding us so skilfully up the Aletschhorn and then past the Nesthorn back down into the valley. A great three days in the high mountains, far away from everything. Long ascents and summit climbs, moderate hut-to-hut routes via ferrata and slippery descents. What an experience and what fun on the descent. Always happy to return. LG Bernd

Clint and Fabian led a truly memorable 4-day ski tour to Tödi, and I can't recommend them highly enough! Their mix of technical expertise and calm, thoughtful leadership really stood out. They were constantly balancing avalanche risk, route choices, and group pace, and we always felt safe and in great hands. Clint and Fabian handled the group extremely well, keeping everyone together at a pace that worked for all. Communication was clear throughout, and they made a real effort to include both German and non-German speakers. Overall, there was a strong focus on safety without taking away from the experience. We could relax, trust their decisions, and just enjoy the tour, and we had tons of fun along the way! An outstanding team, already looking forward to the next one with them!

The tour advertised for tourers who have already done their first tours met my expectations completely. fully met my expectations. The detailed expectations of the participants were clarified at the beginning of the two-day course. Once again, we gained a lot of insight into individual slope assessments directly in the terrain, in different terrain chambers and exposures. We also discussed the classic critical factors of individual avalanche problems and, in addition to different hairpin bend techniques, gained many other great insights into tour planning before and during a tour. The course was a complete success and is highly recommended for tourers who want to become more confident in their own tour planning.

Many thanks to Lukas, Fabian, Nils and all participants for this great tour to Piz Bernina. In perfect conditions, we walked and skied a total of 2100 metres up and 3300 metres down in 12.5 hours. From the Diavolezza to the summit and then to the railway station in Morteratsch. Many thanks to Nils for his calm manner, which made the climb a lot of fun.

The Glarner Haut Route at «Bergschaft» is highly recommended. It offers a quiet, beautiful landscape atmosphere, sporting pleasures and alpine hut life. The two mountain guides will accompany you competently and responsibly, and they are both approachable and emphatic.
