Ticino, Tegna

Climbing places high physical and mental demands on us: Strength, agility, concentration and the ability to remain calm even in demanding situations. In this multi-pitch course, you will have the opportunity to develop these skills through suitable yoga sessions. They support you in your movement, concentration and inner calm.
Around Tegna we find ideal conditions for enjoyable multi-pitch climbing: rock with good grip, sunny walls and a relaxed atmosphere. During the day, we'll be out on the rock together and deepen the techniques of multi-pitch climbing step by step - from efficient belaying and rope management to safe movement on the wall. The focus is on application, safety and confidence in your own movement. The training and schedule are flexibly adapted to the current conditions on site.
The morning and evening yoga sessions are the ideal complement to climbing. Through a targeted mix of simple asanas (physical exercises), breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation sessions, you will improve your flexibility, stability and body awareness, which will help you on the climbing wall. At the same time, the yoga classes offer the perfect balance after the intensive climbing sessions and enable a holistic form of regeneration and recovery.
We will spend three days in a group accommodation with a garden and adjoining yoga room in Ticino. This beautiful place offers the best conditions for a relaxing break from everyday life.
This programme is ideal for you if you are looking for a holistic multi-pitch course that combines climbing with yoga. The programme is aimed at anyone with some experience of lead climbing. Experience in yoga is helpful, but not necessary.
  • Procedure and meeting place

    • Meeting place

10.05 a.m., Ponte Brolla railway station

We meet on Saturday morning at 10.05 a.m. at the Ponte Brolla train station.

    • Day 1 - Arriving, climbing & getting to know each other

We meet in Tegna in the morning to be greeted by the mountain guide and yoga instructor. After getting to know each other as a group, we set off together on foot to the climbing area.

On the rock we check our equipment, repeat the most important safety techniques and brush up on lead climbing. We then get straight into climbing. Everyone moves at their own level, focussing on clean movement, safety and confidence in themselves and the equipment. The mountain guide accompanies you individually and provides specific input on technique, tactics and efficient climbing.

After climbing, we take a relaxed hike to the Maggia and on to our accommodation. There we check in in peace and quiet before rounding off the day with our first yoga session together. This session is designed to help us regenerate, release tension and consciously rebalance our bodies after a day of climbing.

In the evening, we enjoy a delicious dinner together at the accommodation and round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere.

    • Day 2 - Deepen, connect & apply

We start the day with an energising yoga session to consciously prepare body and mind for the climbing day ahead. After breakfast together, we set off again on foot to the climbing area.

On the rock, we deepen our knowledge of belaying and practise abseiling - from theory to safe use. Step by step, we will introduce you to multi-pitch climbing: the focus is on rope handling, communication, flow of movement and efficient progress.

We then put what we have learnt directly into practice and climb an easy, short multi-pitch route. The mountain guide accompanies you closely, provides safety and individual tips so that you gain confidence in the processes and can experience the interaction in the rope team.

After climbing, we take a relaxing hike back to the Maggia or directly to our accommodation. There we have time to take a deep breath, cool down and relax before rounding off the day with a regenerating yoga session. This session helps you to integrate what you have experienced, release tension and regain your balance.

In the evening, we enjoy dinner together in a cosy atmosphere and round off two intensive, unifying days in peace.

    • Day 3 - Applying and rounding off

The last day begins once again with a yoga session to activate the body, promote flexibility and start the final day with focus. After breakfast together, we make our way to the climbing crag.

Today, the focus is on application: together we choose a suitable multi-pitch route and put what we have learnt into practice independently. The focus is on safe lead climbing, clean belaying, efficient rope management and clear communication within the rope team. The mountain guide will support you and provide specific input where necessary.

After the tour, the descent or abseiling takes place - depending on the route and situation. We take time to reflect on the experience and clarify any unanswered questions.

    • Conclusion

      approx. 4 pm, Tegna

We finish the day together back at the accommodation at around 16:00. You go home with consolidated knowledge, more confidence in your abilities and a good body feeling - ready for your own multi-pitch adventures.
