Departure from the Galmihorn from the tour to the Finsteraarhorn

Ski touring on huge glaciers in April and May is brilliant. It's simply fun to ascend over the snow-covered glaciers at dawn, reach a proud summit and then glide back over the beautiful slopes and flat glaciers. In these 2 days, we will take you on two great ski mountaineering tours from the Jungfraujoch and show you what to look out for and how to behave on the glaciers and ski mountaineering tours. We meet in Grindelwald and can immerse ourselves in the high mountain world straight away thanks to the cable cars. We start with a leisurely tour over the Louwihorn and enjoy a magnificent descent across the glacier. We spend the night in the magnificently situated Hollandiahütte and climb from there the next day to the Äbeni Flue at almost 4000 metres. Here we enjoy a magnificent view of the 4,000 metre peaks of the Bernese Oberland. Then it's a long descent down into the Lötschental!

After a welcome at the Jungfraujoch and a coffee, we head straight to the glacier. A short descent brings us to the start of the ascent. The route now takes us impressively across the glacier between the crevasses to the Louwitor and possibly the Louwihorn. Now comes a great descent in the Sulz and a short ascent to the Hollandiahütte.

The second day starts with the first sunlight. At dawn we climb over the glacier towards Äbeni Flue. The last few metres are a little steeper with hairpin bends. Once we reach the top at 3961 metres, we enjoy a magnificent view over the 4,000-metre peaks of the Aletsch region, the north face of the Aletschhorn and the Valais Giants, and on the other side Lake Thun and the foothills of the Alps. This is followed by a magnificent descent between the crevasses and onwards from the Lötschenlücke into the Lötschental. Here we can visit an impressive glacier gate! Depending on the time of year, the bus or taxi picks us up in Blatten or Fafleralp.
