Freetouring Laucherenalp
Little ascent, fresh snow and long descents!
From Thursday afternoon to Friday there will be another 20cm of fresh snow and the sun will be shining in Valais from midday. Perfect for gaining a lot of altitude with a cosy start thanks to the cable cars and opening the new year with powder and sunshine with jubilant and beautiful skiing. We make a first powder run away from the ski area and then climb with our skins to one of the surrounding peaks, probably the Elewertätsch, to then enjoy another really long and sunny run. There are some really great descents in this area and thanks to the lifts, we manage a 500-700 metre ascent on a descent of over 2000 metres!
Venue & meeting point
- Area: Laucherenalp, Lötschental
- Meeting point: 10.15 Wiler (Lötschen) village, valley station, to coincide with the bus connection.
- Conclusion: approx. 16.00 at the same location
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for ski tours with around 700 metres ascent at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and around 2000 metres descent.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Group size
- Takes place with 3 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
- The ascent costs around 32.
Material and equipment
- We have for you a detailed packing list with packing tips compiled.
- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
