Freeriding and freetouring through the sparse forests of Glarus - Nordbünden
Light forests, cold, light powder snow and cool runs!
There is already a lot of fresh snow and there is more to come! Precipitation is forecast for Glarus with the north-westerly weather situation. The forecast is for over 1 metre by Monday. We're going together to a small but brilliant area, which one exactly is still open - we have 3 ideas in mind and will choose the best one depending on the situation. We do a few cool runs with the cable car and then explore new slopes with the skins. We go to a remote area in the north of Grisons / Glarus, which offers contrasting terrain and cool slopes. Thanks to the cable car, we can get straight into the powder before we put on our skins and climb another beautiful summit.
Venue & meeting point
- Area: North Grisons, small but superb ski area
- Meeting point: approx. 8.00 Sargans or Landquart
- Conclusion: approx. 15.00
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for many metres of downhill skiing in powder.
- Splitboarders are welcome, provided they are experienced.
Group size
- Takes place with 4 - 6 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 225.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
