Glacier and crevasse rescue course | Saas Fee
Gain the necessary skills and safety for your upcoming alpine tours with us.
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to be safe and independent in high alpine terrain. Around the Britannia hut, we find ideal training conditions for practising crevasse rescue, rope handling and rescue techniques directly on the glacier terrain. You practise yourself, take on responsibility and gain confidence for your future tours, both technically and mentally. The Felskinn cable car takes us to our training area in no time at all. We spend these two days on the Hohlaub and Allaling glacier with its many crevasses and spend the night in the Britannia hut.
We practise pulley systems, self-ascension and emergency strategies. You will learn different types of rope techniques and improve your behaviour on the glacier. You will also practise your crampon and ice axe techniques on steep ice.
Course schedule and meeting point
We’ll meet at the bus terminal in Saas Fee as soon as the bus arrives. From there, we’ll walk together to the cable car and cover the first few metres of elevation gain together.
Both days we will practise and train near the Britannia Hut in super ideal glacier terrain. We will spend the night in the Britannia hut, where we will fortify ourselves in the evening after a long training session and discuss the day afterwards.
