1500 metres altitude
High tour Dom 4545m
Grandiose, long high-altitude tour to the Dom, the highest peak located entirely in Switzerland!
Beautiful alpine high-altitude tour to one of the most important four-thousand metre peaks in the Alps. At 4545 metres, the Dom is the highest mountain that lies entirely in Switzerland. The ascent via the Domhütte and the Festijoch is very varied. Technically, it is considered relatively easy, but requires a very good level of fitness. In good conditions, the view from the Dom extends from Mont Blanc to the Bernese Alps, the Weisshorn directly opposite and the Dufourspitze in the Monte Rosa massif.
Procedure and meeting place
Individual ascent from Randa/Täsch to the Domhütte. It is worth taking the route over the Europa Bridge on the ascent. Dinner together and socialising at the hut. Overnight stay.
We start the day early in the morning and climb the Dom together, enjoy the summit and return to the hut together. We climb the rocky Festijoch, which is an easy scramble. From the Festijoch, depending on the conditions, we decide whether to climb to the summit via the Festigrat, which is more varied and direct, or via the normal route (north flank). The descent leads via the north flank and again via the scramble at the Festijoch back to the Domhütte.
You are free to decide whether you want to descend into the valley on the same day or stay another night at the Domhütte.
