Round tour from the Stockhorn | Ski tour BEO
Wonderful views and great touring options!
After the turbulent weather of the last few days, a stable high with fine weather and cold temperatures arrives on Sunday. This gives us the opportunity to go on a beautiful round tour from the Stockhorn with 2-3 short ascents and various great descents while enjoying the view of Lake Thun and the mighty Bernese Alps. Together we look forward to solitary descents in playful ski touring terrain and enjoy a wonderful day of ski touring! Philipp is already looking forward to this beautiful round tour with approx. 800 metres ascent and 1400 metres descent. We plan to take the gondola back down from the middle station. If there is still enough snow up to the valley station, we will of course adapt our plan with even more descent.
Venue & meeting point
- Area: Stockhorn, Simmental
- Meeting point: 9.10 valley station Stockhornbahn, arrival from the train at 8.53 in Erlenbach im Simmental, 15′ walk to the valley station
- Car park available at the valley station.
- Conclusion: approx. 15.00
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for ski tours with around 800 metres ascent at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and around 1500 metres descent.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Group size
- Takes place with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
