Have you already gained independent experience on high-altitude ski tours, but would like to improve your technique and skills? In our coaching sessions, we accompany you on selected tours and cater to your individual needs: more efficient hairpin turns, clean rope handling, crevasse rescue training, safe descents in steep terrain or tour planning in complex situations. Depending on your level, we will pick you up and help you take the next step - for even more safety and enjoyment on independent high-altitude ski tours and haute routes.

Target price: After the coaching, you will be able to confidently and safely plan and organise your own ski tours - even in challenging terrain.

  • Procedure and meeting place

In these four-day ski touring coaching days, you will learn how to deepen your knowledge in alpine terrain. Together with a mountain guide, we repeat important techniques, practise rope handling and apply what you have learnt directly on varied tours. Step by step, you will take on more responsibility for planning and carrying out your own tours, gaining confidence and routine for your own challenging alpine ski tours.

    • Meeting place

      approx. 9 a.m. Jungfraujoch

We meet at the Jungfraujoch. From there we start our training days.

    • Day 1 - Approach Konkordiahütte

Depending on the conditions, on the first day we climb over the Trugberg and its saddle to the side of the Ewigschneefäld. From there we descend to the Konkordiahütte, where we spend the night.
In the evening, we enjoy a delicious Z'Nacht and discuss the next day's programme. Joint tour planning is also an integral part of these training days.

    • Day 2 - Application tour and ascent Finsteraahornhütte

On the second day we climb - depending on the conditions - via the Fieschersattel to the Finsteraarhornhütte. If possible, we take the Hintere or Grosse Fiescherhorn with us. On the way, we put the techniques we have learnt into practice and apply all the important exercises directly in the terrain. At the hut, we fortify ourselves for the next day and work together to plan and prepare for the next day. We take the weather forecast and the avalanche situation into account when choosing the route. We get to know various tour planning tools.

    • Day 3 - Application tour from Finsteraarhornhütte

We set off early in the morning from the Finsteraarhorn hut on our chosen tour. On this day, too, we will put as much of the training into practice as possible. We will specifically train crevasse rescue and apply various techniques. (Self-rescue, companion rescue,...) We will also talk about organisation and communication in an emergency. After the tour, we return to the Finsteraarhornhütte, where we spend another night.

    • Day 4 - Final application tour and descent into the valley

Today we set off again on a joint application tour with the aim of travelling to Reckingen. Once there, we look back on four intensive and instructive days with many new impressions.

    • Conclusion

We either travel back home individually from Reckingen or travel back to Grindelwald together and say goodbye to each other there.
