Ski tour Central Switzerland - spontaneously in the right place
A fantastic start to the season: for the second time, there is plenty of snow and temperatures are back down to below freezing! Powder snow and sunshine await us on fantastic ski tours!
It's snowing heavily again. We're heading to the fresh snow mecca of Central Switzerland to enjoy one of the many magnificent ski tours in this region. Lots of downhill skiing with little climbing awaits us. We're going on a leisurely ski tour with around 800 metres of ascent and more descent. If possible, we want to do a traverse or a circular tour. We'll use the rail infrastructure and decide spontaneously once we know the amount of fresh snow, the avalanche risk and the exact weather conditions. One thing is certain: there's a magnificent ski tour in the Engelberg Valley – Uri area!
We will start the season at a leisurely pace, walking at a comfortable speed and taking our time to get used to the movements involved in ascending and descending again. The avalanche risk on Thursday will also be relatively high (3+ or 4). We will choose terrain where we can be sure of our safety!

Procedure and meeting place
Meeting point at approximately 9:00 a.m. in the Engelberg Valley region – Uri.
Ski tour with around 800–1000 metres of elevation gain and significantly more descent.Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Fitness for ski tours with around 800-1000 metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and significantly more downhill.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
Material and equipment

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
