  • Day 1

    16:00 Keflavik Airport

    We meet at Keflavik International Airport, where our journey begins. Together we check our luggage and load it into our travelling vehicle, a van for nine people in a group of six. We drive north for about an hour and spend the night in a small hotel in a pretty village. We have the opportunity to eat real Icelandic food for the first time and enjoy our first evening together.

  • Day 2

    We’ll drive the rest of the way north – about four hours – and are sure to see plenty along the way. At this time of year, an incredible number of migratory birds gather in the Mittelland; thousands of geese fly across the countryside and are nesting again. The landscape changes incredibly quickly and we’ll enjoy the contrast between the southern and northern parts of the island. If possible, we’ll go on a ski tour, after which we’ll check into our accommodation and enjoy our first evening together.

  • Day 2 - 7

    The Sigló Hotel in Siglufjörður is the perfect haven of relaxation for our ski touring trip, where the focus is on shared experiences and enjoying the great outdoors. Built right in the picturesque marina on the Troll Peninsula, this charming 4-star hotel offers a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. During the day, we’ll go on regular ski tours, heading wherever the conditions look most promising. In our experience, the tours don’t take up the whole day; we’ll take the time to get to know the island and Iceland. There are plenty of sights to see, hot springs, waterfalls and fascinating stories.

  • Day 8

    We drive back to Reykjavik and spend the night in a hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. There is also plenty to see here, and it is the perfect place to round off the trip, so we enjoy a delicious dinner in a first-class restaurant.

  • Day 9

    approx. 15:00 Zurich Airport

    We leave our hotel in Reijkavik early in the morning and travel together to the airport in Keflavik. We return home with many impressions and lasting experiences.

• Requirements

  • Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin bends). Often these are normal ski tours, as we know them from Switzerland. If possible, we also include tours with passages where we tie on the skis or a foot ascent is included.
  • Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow. We often find the most beautiful powder snow. But like everywhere else, the weather can do what it wants.
  • Condition for 1000m of ascent at a leisurely pace over a week. Sometimes we will do less than 1000 m, maybe more. We divide the tours so that we have enough energy for all days!
  • Splitboarders are welcome, provided they are experienced.

• Price and services

  • CHF 3,490 for the entire trip, for groups of 4 or more participants
  • An additional 500 CHF will be charged if there are fewer than 6 participants
  • Small groups of 6–7 guests per mountain guide.
  • Hotel accommodation on arrival and departure
  • Accommodation in a double room, including half-board.
    • A single room is available on request at an additional cost.
  • Spacious rental car with winter tyres, including fuel costs.
  • Excluding flight and, if applicable, meals and consumptions in restaurants and cafes.
  • Exclusive alcoholic beverages
  • As we have high fixed costs, special cancellation fees apply for this trip. Travel insurance is recommended.
    • Cancellation up to 180 days before departure: CHF 1500.-
    • Cancellation up to 60 days before departure: 80 % of the tour price
    • Cancellation 59 to 0 days before departure: full tour price
