A good layer of fresh snow over the last few days and plenty of sunshine on Thursday tempt us to go on a nice spontaneous tour on the Simplon.

Endurance
We are travelling along the Simplon with our mountain guide Jérôme, who grew up in Brig. An area that he knows like the back of his hand. Thanks to his local experience, he chooses the route flexibly and in line with the current conditions and shows you the most beautiful sides of this versatile ski touring area.
The focus of this spontaneous tour is a wonderful combination of an enjoyable ascent (approx. 1000 metres) and an even more enjoyable descent in powder snow. Wide slopes, varied terrain and often surprisingly good snow conditions make the Simplon an ideal destination for a rewarding day's skiing. This tour is aimed at anyone who wants to return to the valley at the end of the day with a big smile on their face.
Procedure and meeting place
We will meet at the Simplon Pass, probably at the Monte Leone bus stop. The time is adapted to the 07.02 train connection from Zurich main station. Please let us know who is travelling by car and who is travelling by train.
Jerome will accompany you to the beautiful Simplon region and show you beautiful spots, the best snow and together we will stretch our faces towards the sun.
We finish the tour together back at the Simplon and travel home with a big grin on our faces.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for ski tours with around 1000 metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and around 1000 metres downhill.
- Splitboarders are very welcome
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
