Winter season start
Up to half a metre of fresh snow forecast & sun - what more could we want for the first spontaneous turns of the winter?
Technics
Endurance
On Thursday and Friday there is really nice snow. So we're going on our first tour of the season on Saturday! We'll decide spontaneously and flexibly where the conditions are best. We'll probably be travelling in the Glarus area, maybe in the direction of Engelberg. In any case, somewhere where we can make nice turns and have a grassy base. We'll let you know exactly where we're going after registration on Friday evening!
One thing is for sure, if we get this much snow, we'll have a great start to the season on Saturday!
Procedure and meeting place
We go on a leisurely ski tour and make our first beautiful turns in the fresh powder snow.
We will let you know the meeting point for the tour after registration by Friday evening. Yes, we are aware that this is spontaneous :)
We finish the tour together back in the valley.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Condition for ski tours with around 1000hm at a comfortable pace (~300hm/h).
- Splitboarders are welcome.

Material and equipment
- We have for you a detailed packing list with packing tips compiled.
- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
- It is advisable to bring an older ski.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
