Toggenburg

Would you like to try rock climbing for the first time or improve your skills on the rock? Brush up on your multi-pitch climbing skills or learn them from scratch? Or perhaps you’ve already mastered the basics and want to tackle the next grade? Then these four days in the beautiful Toggenburg region are just the thing for you – whether you’re a beginner or an advanced climber.

Do you already climb in the gym but have never been to the crag? Then this is the ideal opportunity to venture outside. We'll help you get started with outdoor climbing and show you what you need to look out for so that you can climb safely and enjoy yourself outdoors. You will learn the basics from A to Z: how to correctly tie yourself into the harness, how to use quickdraws, how to secure your climbing partner and how to master rope manoeuvres such as redirecting and threading - all in a safe environment with plenty of time to practise. If you are already an independent climber, we will look for suitable routes together where you can improve your technique, hone your rope handling and increase your climbing efficiency. If you already climb outside on the rock and would like to take the step into multi-pitch climbing, we will have enough time to show you the process and the most important basics. Even if you already climb outside regularly, you are very welcome - we will give you valuable technical input to take you to the next level. You will also have the opportunity to climb multi-pitch routes and gain further experience there - always accompanied by our experienced mountain guides.

We’ll spend four action-packed days at various crag sites and on a range of multi-pitch routes. You’ll be able to put what you’ve learnt into practice straight away, build on your skills, and benefit from the experience and personalised guidance of our expert mountain guides and the other participants. No matter what level you’re at – we’ll meet you where you are and make sure you head home with a rucksack full of new experiences, climbing tips and motivation!

Accommodation

Alderen Lodge, Wildhaus

The Alderen Lodge is a 200-year-old farmhouse that was extensively and stylishly renovated in 2026. The house is situated on slightly higher ground, surrounded by nature, with a magnificent view over the valley. In summer, after a day’s climbing, you can enjoy the peace and quiet or socialise on the terrace. In winter, the interiors, with their abundance of wood, create a warm and cosy atmosphere when we return from a long ski tour. Our hosts take care of the culinary delights, cooking for us with passion and dedication. The sauna and hot tub are also a particular highlight, perfectly rounding off this relaxing experience.
If you’re travelling by car, you can park it free of charge on the grounds next to the main road.
