Finally, the long-awaited fresh snow arrives and ends the dry spell that has lasted too long. On Sunday, we set off on a wonderful ski tour from the Flumserberg ski area. Thanks to the cable cars, we start high up and look for the best descents in two ascents. The terrain here is playful and there are plenty of options! We choose a secluded summit and look for a few untracked slopes. Thanks to the snowfall, this becomes a pleasure! Not least because we can ski down to 1800 metres thanks to the ski area with only 750 - 1000 metres. After taking the lifts up, we make our first descent before climbing to the summit. The ascent leads over small alps and marvellous snow-covered slopes. The second, long descent over beautiful slopes then awaits us. We decide on the spot whether to take the long descent into the Schilstal valley or return to the ski area. A brilliant day awaits us!
Procedure and meeting place
We meet at the Unterterzen valley station and take the cable car all the way up.
We look for secluded slopes and a great summit to enjoy the lonely winter landscape and ski as much as possible in great terrain!
We will probably finish the tour in Schilstal. A taxi will pick us up here and we will return to the starting point
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Condition for ski tours with around 800hm at a comfortable pace (~300hm/h).
- Condition for 1500m descent in different types of snow.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
- Flumserberg ski tour ticket costs around 25 with the half-fare travelcard

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
