Refuge des Grands Mulets
At 3051 metres, the hut sits spectacularly enthroned between the Bossons glacier's crevasses and offers a unique view of Chamonix far below in the valley. The Refuge des Grands Mulets is the starting point for the classic ski ascent of Mont Blanc via the north side and the Bosses ridge. The hut is simple but cosy, and its location in the middle of a sea of glaciers conveys a real high mountain feeling. The long tradition of alpinism around the "white giant" is particularly tangible here.
