Freeriding Airolo
Light forests and some really great runs await us!
The Airolo ski area may not be the best known for freeriding, but it offers some wonderful freeride runs! And there are some in the sparse forest, perfect for enjoying the fresh snow during the snowfall and covering a few metres of descent. It snows quite a bit from Friday to Sunday, so we are travelling at the right altitudes in Airolo and the weather improves slightly in the afternoon. Airolo is also easily accessible by train!
Venue & meeting point
- Area: Airolo Pesciüm
- Meeting point: 9.01 Airolo station (train arrival), continue by bus to Airolo, Funivia (SBB timetable)
- If you are travelling by car: 9.15 valley station Airolo Pescüm
- Conclusion: approx. 16.00
Requirements
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Fitness for a day of freeriding
- Splitboarders are welcome, provided they are experienced.
Group size
- Takes place with up to 7 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 225.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
Material and equipment
- We have for you a detailed packing list with packing tips compiled.
- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
- We always have skins and a safety set with us for freeriding.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
