Cross majestic glaciers together, climb easy 4,000 metre peaks and ascend to the highest hut in Europe.
The Spaghetti Tour light is an impressive and technically easy crossing of the Monte Rosa massif at an altitude of over 4,000 metres! We reach several easy 4,000 metre peaks via huge glaciers and spend the last night in the highest hut in Europe: the Margherita Hut at around 4,500 metres. On the way, we experience the fascinating glacier world of Monte Rosa up close - a tour full of views, impressions and emotions that will stay with you for a long time!
The Spaghetti Tour light is a five-day high-altitude tour over the glaciers of the Monte Rosa massif. On the first day, we take a leisurely approach: We get used to the altitude and brush up on the use of crampons and ice axes. We then begin the crossing from hut to hut, surrounded by ice, rock and breathtaking mountain scenery. Italian hospitality accompanies us at every stage: primi, secondi and strong espresso make the mountaineer's heart beat faster. A new highlight awaits us every day: we start with the Breithorn, our first 4,000 metre peak. Afterwards, we look deep into the valleys of the Aosta Valley and the mighty walls of Monte Rosa from the south. In the last two days, we climb further 4,000 metre peaks and finally spend the night in the highest hut in Europe - the Capanna Margherita at 4,554 metres. What an experience! The descent takes us one last time over impressive glaciers, past the Monte Rosa hut and back to civilisation, with a rucksack and a heart full of memories.
Individual journey to Zermatt. Zermatt is easily accessible by public transport. If you are travelling by car, you will need to park it in Täsch and travel the last stretch to Zermatt by train. Zermatt is car-free. Brief welcome and introductions with the mountain guide.
We take the railway together to the Trockener Steg mountain station. The railway makes the ascent to the Gandegghütte easier.
We take the railway up to the Klein Matterhorn and make the tour to the Breithorn (4164 m). From there we enjoy the view from our first 4000 metre peak. We then descend to the Rifugio Guide d`Ayas, where we spend the night.
Today we cross the southern valleys of Monte Rosa. We descend to Vèraz. We climb over pathless terrain to Colle Bettaforca. From there, the cable car takes us comfortably to the Passo dei Salati. A short ascent takes us directly to the Rifugio Città di Mantova, surrounded by the glacier of the Monte Rosa massif.
This day will inspire you with the ascent of various 4000 metre peaks around the highest hut in the Alps: Vincentpyramide 4341m, Ludwigshöhe 4343m and Signalkuppe, on which the highest hut in the Alps is also located, the Capanna Regina Margherita 4554m, where we will also spend the night.
Our final day may take us to the Zumsteinspitze (4563 m), "just" above the hut, before we descend via the impressive Grenzgletscher to the Monte Rosa Hütte (2798 m). A via ferrata and the glacier take us to the Gornergrat railway on the Rotenboden. We take the railway back to Zermatt together.
We say goodbye to each other in Zermatt and travel back home individually with impressive images in our minds.
