A base for climbers and mountaineers, but above all for families with children, as well as for courses and training because of the surrounding area.

The fascination of alpine tours: learn and experience!
The Sustli area is the ideal place to learn the art of mountaineering. Impressive gneiss mountains, small but wild glaciers, a well-catered hut and the idyllically situated Grassenbiwak await us. In this course, we work together on the techniques of alpine mountaineering - in a practical way, directly in the terrain and on varied tours. On the first few days, we will repeat and consolidate the basics on shorter tours and discuss what is important when planning tours. We then apply what we have learnt on longer tours in the area, always adapted to the group and the conditions. We spend the first two nights in the cosy Sustlihütte. For the last night, we move on to the remote Grassenbiwak, a quiet place high above the valley. There we cook together, enjoy the sunset and greet the new day with a view of the surrounding mountains. A very special experience.
Meeting point: Thursday, 9.37 in Meien, Sustenbrüggli (to coincide with the bus connection)
For the dates in June: meet in Altdorf and travel together by Alpine taxi to the Susten Pass.
We start an intensive mountain experience together: we get to know each other, clarify expectations and you get an initial overview of the course.
We climb up to the hut together and dive straight into the first practical session on real rock and real situations.

A particularly instructive and scenically impressive stage awaits us today: the route to Grassenbiwak leads over glaciers, ideal for ice training. Cosy get-together in the secluded Grassenbiwak
The Grassenbiwak is perfectly equipped. We will take the food from the Sustlihütte with us. The cooking and sleeping facilities in the bivouac are marvellous. Much quieter than the weekend hustle and bustle of the Sustlihütte.
At the end, a challenging tour tailored to your needs awaits us: ice, glacier and rope technique once again. Here you can apply and deepen your knowledge and gain new confidence. We will support you individually so that you can deepen your knowledge and apply it directly.
Daily destination: Ice training part II - Complete your development with joy, pride & new knowledge
Course content:
Repetition: ice axe, crampons, glacier techniques

Feedback & reflection: What do you take away? How can you continue?
We finish the multi-day course at around 3 pm at the Sustenbrüggli car park and look back together on what we have experienced.
