Silvretta

The Silvretta is a classic among the ski touring regions of the Alps and for good reason. Majestic three-thousand metre peaks, extensive glaciers, impressive summits and cosy, serviced huts make this crossing a wonderful experience for all ski touring enthusiasts. Over four days, we move through this fascinating winter world: we ascend across extensive glaciers, cross striking peaks such as Jamspitz, Ochsenkopf and Silvrettahorn and enjoy great descents every day, from high alpine terrain down to the valley. We experience impressive landscapes and the special flair of a classic crossing: a new stage destination every day, new impressions and a real adventure step by step. In the evening, we end the day in cosy huts, enjoy a delicious meal and plan the next stage together. This crossing is ideal for experienced ski tourers who want to spend several days at a time on the road, improve their skills on challenging tours and experience the beauty of the Silvretta in all its diversity. A real highlight awaits us at the end: the ascent of the Silvrettahorn and a long, enjoyable descent down to Klosters. The perfect end to a unique ski tour crossing.

Accommodation

  • Chamonna Tuoi

The Chamonna Tuoi is a cosy and rustic chalet with genuine Engadine charm, tucked away at the very back of the picturesque Tuoi Valley. It is situated at 2,250 metres above sea level, right at the foot of the majestic Piz Buin, which you can admire from the lovely sun terrace whilst enjoying a coffee and a Graubünden nut cake.

    Chamonna Tuoi
  • Jamtal Hut

The Jamtalhütte is a large, modern mountain hut situated in the upper Jamtal valley – the Tyrolean part of the Silvretta range – right at the entrance to the Futschöltal valley at an altitude of 2,165 metres, making it the perfect base for countless ski tours. The hut is very well equipped, even featuring an indoor climbing wall. It serves as a training centre for the DAV, yet despite its size, it has retained its cosy, traditional hut atmosphere. When we arrive after a strenuous tour, we are rewarded here with genuine Tyrolean hospitality and outstanding regional specialities.

  • Wiesbaden Hut

The Wiesbadener Hütte is situated at the end of the Ochsental valley, on the Austrian side of Piz Buin. It is perched in a prime spot with a breathtaking view of the immense ice fields of the “Blaue Silvretta”. Once we’ve soaked up plenty of sunshine on the lovely terrace, we’ll enjoy a regional, home-style dinner in the cosy dining rooms.
