Ski touring days in La Fouly, starting from the hotel with a mountain guide | Val Ferret
Experience varied days of ski touring in the peaceful snow-covered paradise of Val Ferret, with breathtaking views of the impressive Mont Blanc massif.
Val Ferret is an enchanting valley in the Lower Valais which, in winter, is transformed into a picturesque snowy paradise. The breathtaking panorama, featuring the majestic peaks of the Mont Blanc massif, and the unspoilt natural surroundings provide a magnificent setting for a variety of beautiful ski tours. For four days, you can let off steam on your skis, climb stunning peaks, soak up the sun and enjoy exhilarating descents. In the evenings, there’s plenty of time for socialising as we chat over dinner and look back on the day’s events. The Hotel Edelweiss spoils us with its traditional Valaisan and Swiss cuisine. We benefit from the hotel’s comfortable service combined with its close proximity to the mountains and the impressive Alpine backdrop.
Procedure and meeting place
Please make your own way here by public transport or by carpool. We’ll meet at 12.01 pm at the La Fouly VS bus stop.
After a brief welcome, we take our luggage to the hotel. Then we get ready for a leisurely first ski tour. We’ll take the cable car up to the Arpalle mountain station. From there, we’ll set off on a leisurely tour and look for a great powder run.
In the evening, we treat ourselves to dinner at the hotel and enjoy each other’s company.
On the second and third days, we’ll make the most of the variety of routes in Val Ferret and go on ski tours tailored to the group’s preferences and the snow conditions. The possibilities here are endless. Two highlights would be La Dotse (2,485 metres above sea level) and the Tête de Ferret (2,714 metres above sea level), which offer exciting ski tours where you can marvel at the untamed natural landscape and the glaciated mountains.
If you’d like to go on a longer tour, the Pointe Allobrogia (3,172 metres of elevation gain) – a brilliant ride. That would be just under 1,600 metres of elevation gain, though. Our final ski tour is on the agenda – today we can set our sights on one last summit to round off our days of touring.
At around 3.00 pm, we’ll say our goodbyes and, with happy memories to take home with us, set off for home – either on our own or in car-shares.
