Uri Haute Route with a mountain guide | Andermatt – Engelberg

The Uri Haute Route is a ski traverse from Andermatt to Engelberg. In five days, we cross summits from hut to hut on touring skis and enjoy sunny ascents and long, north-facing descents. The Uri Haute Route is a haute route with an average of 1200 metres per day. On the ski touring difficulty scale, it is categorised as quite difficult (ZS).

We normally complete the Uri Haute Route in five days.

For the Uri Haute Route we need:

• Normal ski touring equipment plus crampons
• light crampons,
• Climbing harness,
• and pimples.

The mountain guide also has the following with him:

• Safety equipment such as ropes, slings and carabiners,
• Rescue equipment such as pharmacy, satellite messenger,
• Orientation material.

The Haute Route in Uri has the best conditions from mid-February to mid-April.

The Uri Haute Route is a long ski tour traverse, with ascents of over 1000 metres every day and long descents. We also traverse steeper terrain. The Uri Haute Route is therefore only for experienced ski tourers.

• Berhotel Gwüest Göscheneralp
• Voralp hut
• Susten Pass Alpine Centre

• Chelenalp Hut
• Tierberglihütte
• Grassenbiwak
• Sustlihütte

There are countless variants, additional options and shortcuts:

• People often spend the night in the Chelenalphütte instead of the Gasthaus Gwüest.
• The tour can also be completed on the Susten Pass.
