The area around Zuoz offers an impressive variety of touring options: sunny peaks, secluded valleys, magnificent north-facing descents and sparse Swiss stone pine forests. Thanks to our hotel’s excellent location, we can adapt flexibly to the conditions each day and choose the best touring destinations. Right from the mountain railway in Zuoz, classics such as Piz Belvair or Pizzet beckon with fantastic ascents and magnificent north-facing descents. Opposite our hotel, Piz Arpiglia and Piz Murtirol rise up as further rewarding destinations, which can be ideally combined for varied cross-country tours. And when fresh powder snow has fallen, we find beautiful forest descents above Madulain in the Muntischè area. During the day we enjoy varied ski tours and in the evening we relax in the cosy hotel in Zuoz with good food and convivial conversation.
Procedure and meeting place
We’ll meet in Zuoz and leave our luggage there.
Once we’ve dropped off our luggage, we’ll set off straight away on our first ski tour. Depending on the conditions, we’ll take the cable car and enjoy our first tour, which includes a lovely descent.
A full-day ski tour in the Zuoz region. Depending on snow and avalanche conditions, we’ll choose the most appealing destination of the day and enjoy the wide range of options the Upper Engadine has to offer.
To round things off, we have another lovely ski tour in store for us before we set off for home in the afternoon.
We round off our time together in Zuoz, taking lasting memories home with us, and set off on our individual journeys home.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Condition for ski tours with around 1000hm at a comfortable pace (~300hm/h).
- Condition for 1000m of descent in different types of snow.
- Splitboarders are welcome, provided they are experienced.
Price and services
- CHF 990.-
- Small group with 5 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Including accommodation and half-board at the hotel.
- Excluding personal travel expenses, any train tickets and personal expenses.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
