Basic multi-pitch course in Ticino | Training and practical tours with a mountain guide
Pitch after pitch in the best gneiss - learn multi-pitch climbing in sunny Ticino and take the plunge from the climbing garden to the wall!
Do you finally want to venture from the climbing garden into the long tours - not be back on the ground after one rope length, but rather complete rope length after rope length? Then this three-day course in sunny Ticino is just the thing for you!
With its mild climate, southern flair and a large selection of climbing areas, Ticino offers the ideal setting for getting into multi-pitch climbing. Between gneiss slabs, cracks and the best friction rock, you will find everything a climber's heart desires - and thanks to the pleasant temperatures, it is also wonderful to climb outdoors in spring and autumn. Perfect conditions for learning new things and putting what you've learnt into practice on the rock.
We deliberately take three days to provide you with in-depth knowledge and safety on the rock: The first day focusses on training. You will learn the basic techniques of multi-pitch climbing or refresh your knowledge - topics such as planning, belay station construction, rope handling as well as rescue and first aid are at the centre of this.
On the following two days, we put what we have learnt directly into practice: We climb varied multi-pitch routes in the beautiful Ticino granite landscape, practise efficient sequences and deepen our technique. In this way, you will consolidate your routine and, if you wish, you can also lead climb yourself to gain confidence in your equipment and movement. On the second evening, our mountain guide will give you an exciting theoretical input on meteorology, rescue and first aid - knowledge that you can put into practice the next day.
These three days combine training, application and the real „dolce vita“ - with plenty of climbing time, valuable input and a touch of Italy under the warm Ticino sun.
