Freetouring Haldigrat | Engelberg Valley
A small but fine railway with plenty of options and little ascent!
Sunday is getting better and better, with fresh snow on Saturday and more and more clearing on Sunday. We take advantage of this to spend another great day in the snow! We use the small infrastructure of the Haldigrat to gain height and make a first great descent. With an ascent we reach great ski touring terrain off the beaten track and climb one of the surrounding peaks. It snows up to 1200 metres and the cable car takes us up to just under 2000 metres. The most snow is forecast in the Engelberg Valley. Another wintry day with snow-covered forests and beautiful snow awaits us - together we enjoy a marvellous day in the mountains! We make around 800 metres of ascent and 1500 metres of descent.

Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Fitness for ski tours with around 800 metres of ascent at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and significantly more descent.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Group size
- Takes place with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

- We have for you a detailed packing list with packing tips compiled.
- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
