Freetouring in Engelberg | Little ascent and lots of descent!
Freetouring on the Titlis - the perfect combination of ski touring and freeriding.

Endurance
Thanks to the mountain lifts, we can easily reach the high starting points for our freeride descents. With only short ascents on touring skis, we can enjoy a variety of descents in an impressive landscape. Engelberg is one of our absolute favourites for freeriding! In addition to wide, untracked slopes, the famous "Big Five" freeride descents - impressive classics - also beckon here.
Some of the "Big Five" descents are already possible and with the fresh snow on Thursday it should be a "Powder-Friday".
Procedure and meeting place
We meet at the valley station in Engelberg, Titlis. If you are travelling by train, walk from Engelberg station to the valley station, which is much quicker than taking the bus.
Requirements
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- You enjoy skiing
- Mastering the ski touring technique (skins, hairpin turns).
- Stamina for ski tours of around 300 metres at a normal pace (~300-350m/h).
- Condition for 2000m of descent in different types of snow.
Group size
- Takes place with up to 6 guests per mountain guide.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.
Material and equipment
- We have for you a detailed packing list with packing tips compiled.
- For this tour you need the following material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.
Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
