Ski tour in the sparse forests of Glarus | Little Canada
More fresh snow, yay! Combined with contrasting terrain and a small track, we get the best turns.

We enjoy this week's fresh snow in the contrasting terrain of Glarus. We take a small cable car up and can start high up. We enjoy the snow with one or two ascents and finally ski down to the valley!
Procedure and meeting place
We meet at the valley station of the Matt-Weissenberge cable car and then take the cable car up.
We go on a ski tour with 1 or 2 ascents and look for great descents in contrasting terrain between sparse forests. At the end we ski all the way down to Matt!
We end the day happy from the snow and the skiing back at the same place.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for ski tours with around 800 - 1000 vertical metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h) and more downhill.
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Price and services
- CHF 195.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including planning and realisation with mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

- For this tour you need the material from this PDF. We carry our equipment with us all the time. Pack only what is necessary.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
