Three days of pure ski touring pleasure. Fantastic descents, impressive peaks and powder fun in the midst of wild granite mountains await you around the Rotondo hut!

The Rotondo Hut lies high above the Wittenwasserental valley near Realp. Fantastically nestled in the wild granite landscape, it is the perfect base for three unforgettable days on a ski tour. Together we discover the region's most beautiful peaks and descents, make our tracks through playful terrain and enjoy the tranquil expanse of this special mountain world. Be it lonely, long descents, rewarding summit ascents or safe powder slopes in fresh snow. All options are open to us around the Rotondo hut. Away from the well-known routes, we also explore hidden crossings and less frequented tours, exactly where the ski touring heart beats faster.
Look forward to intense mountain experiences, great descents and an enjoyable time amidst impressive granite peaks. We share all of this in a motivated group and with a great deal of passion for winter!
Procedure and meeting place
Individual journey. We meet in the morning at Realp railway station. From there we start the ski touring days together.
From Realp we ascend via the Tälligrat to the Rotondo hut. We enjoy an exciting ski tour on the first day and can look forward to a short but beautiful descent to the hut. Once we arrive at the hut, we enjoy the warm parlour and the hospitality of the hut team.
Depending on the conditions, we will undertake one of the many rewarding ski tours in this area: the Läckihorn with a great northern descent, the Witenwasserenstock or the Pizzo Lucendro as a somewhat longer ski tour. This day will be exciting and eventful with leisurely ascents and great descents.
If conditions permit, we leave the area via the Muttenlücke in Goms. In this way we reach a descent of over 1700 metres with an ascent of only 600 metres. The train takes us comfortably back to Realp. A unique tour with significantly more descent than ascent!
We finish the ski touring days together, depending on the conditions in Goms and by train back to Realp or directly in Realp.
Requirements
- Mastering the ski touring technique with its basics (skins, hairpin turns).
- Safe downhill technique in open terrain and in different types of snow.
- Stamina for ski tours of around 800 - 1000 metres at a leisurely pace (~300m/h).
- Splitboarders are welcome.
Price and services
- CHF 790.-
- Small group with 4 - 7 guests per mountain guide.
- Including professional planning and realisation with a mountain guide and his travel expenses.
- Including accommodation costs with half board.
- Excluding travel expenses, possible train tickets, personal consumption.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.
