Ski High Tour Tödi | Glarus Haute Route at Easter with Mountain Guide
Travelling through the impressive glacier world of the Glarus Haute Route, with the Tödi as the crowning highlight.
To the dates and registration
The Glarus region offers ideal conditions for unforgettable ski tours at the beginning of April. Over the Easter holidays, we use this time to get to know the Glarus high mountains in depth - with the Tödi as the crowning highlight. To begin with, we prepare for the ascent with a variety of tours. Together with your mountain guide, you will climb peaks such as the Clariden and the Schärhorn. You will receive valuable tips and tricks on what to look out for on ski tours in high alpine terrain. From the Clariden hut, we cross the Clariden and the expansive Hüfifirn before enjoying the fantastic location of the Planura hut and its unique evening atmosphere. The next day, the tour takes us over the lonely Hüfifirn to the Schärhorn and further along the imposing north side of the Tödi to the rustic Fridolinshütte. This is where the last and probably most spectacular part begins: the ascent of the Tödi. This striking peak not only offers a breathtaking panorama, but also great downhill skiing opportunities. If conditions permit, the highlight is the descent into the secluded Val Gliems, where exciting passages and impressive landscapes await us.
We meet at the valley station of the Fiseten cable car at Urnerboden. We recommend travelling by public transport from Ziegelbrücke, as we do not yet know where we will end the tour.
We save ourselves the first few metres in altitude and take the Fisetenbahn cable car up. From there, we start our first ski tour together on the Gemsfairenstock. Up there, we can see the whole area for the next few days. The view is fantastic. We descend via the Gemsfairenjoch to the Claridenhütte, where we spend our first night
We ascend from the Claridenhütte to the Clariden via the Claridenfirn. From there, we take the most direct descent to the Planura hut, where we spend our second night.
In the morning, we set off for the Gross Schärhorn, which we climb on our traverse of the Glarus Haute Route, before making our way back to the Fridolinshütte and descending through Hinter Stäfeli. We spend the night there and fortify ourselves for our final day.
The Tödi is on the agenda today. We set off early in the morning to climb the highest peak in Glarus. High up, we enjoy the wonderful view of the mountains. Depending on the conditions, we choose the best descent option.
We finish the tour together. Depending on the situation, we may travel a little further back together. With many new impressions and intense experiences, we make our way home.
