The Weisshorn is considered by many to be the most beautiful four-thousand-metre peak in the Alps. Elegant, exposed and uncompromising, it rises above the valley. Its traverse is one of the great classics of alpinism and is demanding, long and beautifully aesthetic.
Gemeinsam begehen wir das Weisshorn von der Tracuit Hütte her über das Bishorn und den anspruchsvollen Nordgrat. Vom Gipfel steigen wir über den Ostgrat zur Weisshorn Hütte ab, wo du dich von den Anstrengungen des Tages erholen kannst. Wir erleben eine der eindrucksvollsten Grattouren der Alpen. Der Weg führt über weite Gletscherlandschaften, steile Firn- und Eispassagen und luftige Felsgrate.
This crossing is a conscious journey in high alpine terrain. We are travelling in a 1:1 rope team. The summit moment on the Weisshorn is quiet, grand and well deserved. The view extends over countless four-thousand-metre peaks and deep into the Valais.
Procedure and meeting place
We meet in the late afternoon at the Tracuit hut. The hut is reserved for you and the mountain guide and is included in the price.
Von der Tracuithütte starten wir früh (ca. 2 oder 3 Uhr morgens). Wir steigen über eine weite Gletscherlandschaft bis zum Bishorn auf. Von dort geht es über den eindrucksvollen und anspruchsvollen Nordgrat zum Weisshorn. Die Aus- und Tiefblicke sind genau so faszinierend, wie die Besteigung selbst. Am Weisshorn geniessen wir den Gipfelmoment, bevor wir uns über den Ostgrat (Normalweg des Weisshorns) zur Weisshornhütte aufmachen. Mehrere Abseilstellen warten auf uns. Auf der Weisshornhütte angekommen, stärken wir uns und erholen uns von der langen Überschreitung. Wir empfehlen dir, die Nacht auf der Weisshornhütte zu verbringen und erst am nächsten Tag den Weg nach Randa auf dich zu nehmen. So kannst du das Gipfelerlebnis noch mehr geniessen und entsprechend erholt ins Tal absteigen. Die Übernachtung auf der Weisshornhütte ist ebenfalls im Preis inbegriffen.
The mountain guide will either say goodbye to you on the summit day at the Weisshornhütte or stay one more night at the hut and descend with you to Randa the next day.
Requirements
- You have experience on alpine tours with ice axe and crampons.
- You can move efficiently in the climbing terrain. (difficulty 3 places)
- Good physical condition for alpine tours with around 1500 metres ascent and descent at a fluid pace (~400 hm/h).
- Lange und extrem fordernde Tour.
- Vorab gute Akklimatisation empfohlen.
- No fear of heights.

Bergschaft tours and courses are conducted in German as standard. However, our mountain guides speak good English, as do many of the participants. If you speak English, you are of course very welcome. Depending on the tour, it may be worth asking us in advance whether the guide and the group are comfortable speaking English.

The Tracuit hut (3,256 m) is perched spectacularly on a rocky ridge between the Turtmann valley and the Bishorn - with a direct view of the majestic peaks of the Valais Alps.
